The Italian Chest
Image ID: ART08119th century, rosewood sides and mahogany front
The large Italian carved cupboard, that may originally have been used to store linen or as a kitchen cupboard-sideboard, was a gift to the Library in 1938, as part of the bequest of Judge Henry P. Field. A close friend of President Coolidge, Field served as president of the Board of Trustees of Forbes from 1922-1937. The chest probably came from his home at 36 Bedford Terrace.
