Elm Street, from Prospect Place
Image ID: WPC 02:095Front:
Black and white photo of Elm St as seen from Prospect Place. On the left side of the road, Northrop House and a house slightly farther down the street can be seen; on the right side, what is now Clark Hall can be seen, as well as the steeple of St. John's Episcopal Church. At the end of the street, St. Mary's Church and Stoddard Hall are faintly visible. Street is lined with spaced out trees and a sidewalk on each side. Two horse and buggies ride up Elm St side by side. A few pedestrians walk on the sidewalks.
Message on back reads: "Dear friends -- You may see me home just for the day next Friday--am invited to ride out there with some friends and if all goes well hope to come and see you all--Love Martha B."
Back is addressed to: "Mrs. A. P. Van Slyke. / Warren, Mass."
Date is taken from postmark.
