Northampton Pride Oral Histories

In the spring of 2020, a class of Simmons library science students, taught by Kelly Anderson, conducted life-story oral history interviews of queer elders involved in the early days of what was then known as the Gay and Lesbian Liberation March and later Northampton Pride. Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, many students and narrators elected to conduct their interviews virtually via Zoom.

Subsequent rounds of interviews were conducted by Smith College students in the spring of 2021 and 2022.

Interviews and accompanying transcripts are organized by the narrator's name.
