Mary Vazquez

Mary Vazquez was interviewed by Alexis Arcaro on April 10, 2020, who wrote the following abstract of the interview:

In this interview, Mary discusses growing up in Northampton in the 1950’s and 60’s and witnessing the emergence of the lesbian community in the 1970’s. She touches on life experiences such as joining the Grey Nuns of Lexington, working as a nurse's aide at Cooley Dickinson hospital, becoming a DJ and being a part of the Mary Vazquez Women’s Softball League. She attended many of the early Northampton Pride marches and reflects on her experiences marching and the many transitions she has witnessed in the community throughout the years.
